If you’re a healthy adult concerned about signs of aging on the lower half of your face, a facelift can help restore your youth and create a smoother look. These concerns can include lines, wrinkles, sagging skin, and fat underneath your chin or on your neck.
Before your facelift in Towson, you’ll meet with our doctor for a personalized, private consultation. He examines your skin, explains the procedure in detail, and creates a fully personalized plan for your facelift.
We can perform facelifts under general anesthesia at a hospital, ambulatory surgical center, or in the surgery office at the Krupp Center. We’ll choose the right location based on your specific procedure.
Your plan for anesthesia may include a combination of local anesthetics, N2O, and/or IV sedation. Once you arrive, we’ll prepare you for the procedure and answer any remaining questions. Once you feel ready, our doctor begins the procedure, which will take about 3 hours to complete.
During a facelift surgery, our doctor will make a few incisions at the corners of your jaw, just near your earlobe. He trims away excess skin, tightens your muscles, and repositions some of the underlying tissues to create a natural, sophisticated look.

Because we perform your facelift in Towson under general anesthesia, you should plan to fast from all food and drink starting at midnight the night before your procedure. Refrain from smoking for at least 12 hours before your surgery’s scheduled start time, and arrange in advance for another responsible adult to drive you to and from your appointment. They will need to remain in the waiting room throughout the procedure.
Wear loose, comfortable clothing to your surgery. Take out any contact lenses and dentures, and don’t wear any jewelry, excessive make-up, lip stick, or nail polish to your appointment. Notify our team if you develop a cold, sore throat, or another illness before your procedure so that we can reschedule if necessary. Keep the incision sites clean and dry, and avoid exercise and strenuous activities until cleared by our doctor. Avoid overexposure to sunlight and wear sunscreen while outdoors to prevent new signs of aging. After you have completely healed, you can expect to enjoy the results of your facelift for more than 10 years.
