Our team at the Krupp Center specialize in oral surgery. We can perform a range of procedures to support your teeth’s health, but we don’t provide checkups or diagnose tooth conditions like a general dentist. Most of our patients see us for wisdom teeth removal in Towson after being referred by their primary dentist. Our team steps in to perform the extraction surgery only after your primary dentist determines that surgery is necessary.

Dr. Krupt and his crew are awesome. Recently they were able to complete my implant on a day that I was only scheduled to complete paper work. His staff were as efficient as the Nascar pit crew getting to room prepped unexpectedly. Thank you!!Tarcia T

Frequently Asked Questions
Most people’s wisdom teeth fail to emerge in proper alignment with the rest of their teeth, or they may fail to emerge fully through the gum line. This leads to the wisdom teeth becoming entrapped or “impacted” between the jawbone and gum tissue.
Impacted wisdom teeth can cause swelling, pain, and infection of the gum tissue surrounding the wisdom teeth. Additionally, impacted wisdom teeth can cause permanent damage to nearby teeth, gums, and bone. We always recommend removing impacted wisdom teeth to support the health of your entire mouth.
The Krupp Center will provide the safest, most comfortable extraction procedure possible. Dental extractions can feel frightening, but at the Krupp Center, we prioritize your comfort. You can expect considerate, efficient dental care from our team every time.
Depending on your health history and severity of your wisdom teeth impaction, we may schedule your extraction right away. In other cases, we may schedule a consultation before your extraction to build out a specialized surgical plan.
When you arrive for your appointment, we first make you comfortable and answer any questions you may have. Once you’re ready, we administer anesthesia and start the procedure. After your wisdom teeth removal in Towson, we’ll send you home with a copy of your post-care instructions to rest and heal at home.
The total procedure time depends on the number of teeth being removed and their placement. No two patients are exactly alike, but in general, most wisdom teeth removals take about an hour or less. Before your surgery, we will talk you through the entire process and give you an approximate time of how long we expect your procedure to take.
We perform wisdom teeth extractions under deep sedation. As such, you’ll need to follow some guidelines leading up to your surgery. Do not eat or drink anything after midnight before your surgery. Starting 12 hours before your procedure, do not smoke. Arrange for a responsible adult to drive you to and from our office, and they’ll need to remain in the office during your procedure.
Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothes to your surgery. Remove all contact lenses, jewelry, and dentures before arriving for your appointment. Let us know if you have an illness, such as a cold, sore throat, etc., so that we can reschedule your procedure if necessary.
It’s critical to follow your post-care instructions following a tooth extraction to prevent complications and ensure you heal well. We’ll give you a list of foods to avoid and directions for keeping the surgical sites clean.
If we prescribe you an antibiotic, you must complete the entire course of treatment to prevent infection. We may also advise you to avoid smoking or drinking through a straw, as doing so may delay the healing process and cause complications.
If you have any other questions after your wisdom teeth removal in Towson, don’t hesitate to contact our team at the Krupp Center.
