The number of Botox® or Dysport® injections you need depends on your unique body and the specific areas being targeted. Larger areas, like your forehead, may require more injections than smaller areas, like around the corners of your eyes.
At the beginning of your appointment for Botox in Towson, you and your provider can talk about your concerns and goals. They use this information to determine how many injections you’ll need to reach your desired results.
Within a few days of your injections, you may notice less movement in the targeted muscles and more relaxation in your face. It may take several more days up to two weeks for the full results to become visible.
You can expect your results to last about 3 months. However, with repeated treatments, you may notice your results lasting longer. Over time, Dysport® and Botox® train your facial muscles to relax, leading to longer-lasting refreshment with the same number of injections.
When you visit the Krupp Center for Botox® or Dysport®, we first welcome you in and get you checked in. Then, we lead you back to a private treatment room to meet with your provider. You’ll discuss your concerns and goals for treatment. If it’s your first appointment for neuromodulators at the Krupp Center, this conversation may also include a more thorough explanation of Botox® and Dysport®. Additionally, we can give you recommendations for other great treatments at the Krupp Center for your goals.
Once you and your provider have created your plan for Botox®, they prepare your skin. Next, they carefully map out and mark the placement of the injections. Your provider will then administer the injections, review any post-care instructions with you once more, and answer any questions you might have. Then you’re free to return to your day!
Once you know the drill, you can typically expect your appointment to take about half an hour. Your first appointment for Botox in Towson at the Krupp Center may take a little longer—we want to get to know you and ask you about your goals so that we can give you truly personalized treatment.
Leading up to your appointment, plan on avoiding any blood-thinning medications or supplements. This includes NSAIDs like ibuprofen and aspirin, vitamin E, alcohol, etc. These can increase your risk of bruising and bleeding. However, you should always consult a doctor before discontinuing any medications.
Starting several days before your appointment, start drinking extra water to make sure you’re well hydrated. Do not receive any other facial treatments, like chemical peels or microneedling, within a week of your appointment. These can increase your skin’s sensitivity and compromise your Botox® results.

Immediately after your appointment, you may experience some temporary redness, bruising, tenderness, and swelling. These are completely normal and typically resolve on their own shortly.
For the first 4 hours after your appointment, do not massage or rub the treatment area. Keep your head up and avoid any facials or other treatments. For the next 24 hours, treat your skin gently. Use mild skincare products, and avoid any sources of intense heat or sweating. This includes strenuous physical activities, hot tubs, saunas, etc. Avoid exposing your skin to excess sunlight, and make sure to wear sunscreen while outdoors.
