What are dermal needling, microneedling, micro channeling, fractional micro dermal needling, Percutaneous Collagen Induction (PCI), and Collagen Induction Therapy (CTI)? Do all of these terms seem unclear and confusing? Let me help you understand. No matter what you call them, all of the above are non-ablative dermal rejuvenation procedures. They involve creating a micromechanical injury that supports the regulation of cell function to optimize skin health.
Simply put, a series of treatments will encourage your skin to heal. MD Pen is an electric tool that uses a cluster of fine, sterile, stainless steel needles adjusted to various lengths to create micro-injuries in the skin. Micro trauma signals a natural release of growth factors, awakening fibroblasts that trigger an increase of collagen and elastin in the treated area by up to 200%.
Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) are growth factors and cytokines derived from your blood. When PRP or anti-aging serums (containing Hyaluronic Acid or Human Growth factors) are applied topically, they will supercharge the cell's regenerative abilities, reducing inflammation, healing time, hyperpigmentation, and scar tissue formation. Microchannels have been proven to increase the absorption of topical serums by up to 300%.
Even though we recommend a series of treatments, even a single one can result in smoother, firmer, better-hydrated, younger-looking skin. A series of treatments will lessen fine lines and wrinkles and improve elasticity, skin color, stretch marks, and certain types of scar tissue. It can be done anywhere on the body.
The best thing is that there is no recovery time! Sunscreen and makeup can be applied the next day. Immediately post-treatment, the skin appears red. When the topical anesthetic wears off, you will feel like you have light sunburn. Depending on your skin type, that feeling will last 8-24 hours post-treatment. On day five, you may experience a dry flakey peeling on the treated area that can be eliminated with a scrub (ZO® Exfoliating Polish or ZO® Vita Scrub) and an enzyme mask (ZO® Invisapeel), followed by an application of a hydrating moisturizer (Regenica® Repair complex).
The treatment can be done every 3-4 weeks.

PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) has a long history of being used in orthopedic medicine, dentistry, and reconstructive surgery. Scientific studies dating back 30 years have documented that PRP grows new collagen when introduced into the skin. Newer studies have shown that PRP can improve sun damage and aging skin issues.
Platelets are the blood cells that help tissue heal and grow new cells. Introducing PRP into specific areas of the skin acts as a matrix that promotes your own collagen to grow and regenerate tissue, thus naturally smoothing and tightening the skin.
