Do You Have SLEEP APNEA?

DENTAL SLEEP MEDICINE - APNEA SOLUTIONS

Snoring is more than just a nuisance; it may be a sign of obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) and other more serious issues.

Obstructive Sleep Apnea is a debilitating sleep-related breathing disorder defined as the cessation of breathing for 10 seconds or more (apnea is a Greek word meaning “without air”). During sleep, the body’s muscles relax causing the soft tissue of the airway to collapse, obstructing the airway. The body reacts to the closure of the airway by disrupting deep sleep enough to start breathing again, but deprives the sufferer of getting a “good night’s sleep.”

To combat the negative health effects of OSA and the annoyance of snoring, the Krupp Center offers a number of devices and appliances designed to greatly lessen these conditions, which allow you to get the rest you need.

Silent Nite® sl

DENTAL SLEEP MEDICINE - APNEA SOLUTIONS

Your Powerful Prescription for Snoring and Sleep Apnea.

Snoring can be a real problem, not only for the person who snores, but also for the partner and other family members who live with the snorer. However, there is a dental solution for a deeper, more satisfying night’s sleep: Silent Nite® sl. This affordable device is flexible, thin and comfortable for your patients, and it exhibits documented clinical success in mitigating or even preventing the disruptive, unhealthy effects of snoring and sleep apnea.

Without Silent Nite sl, the volumetric capacity of the airway is reduced. This causes snoring and may result in sleep apnea.

Silent Nite sl positions the lower jaw forward, increasing the volumetric capacity of the airway. This aids in the prevention of snoring and sleep apnea.

EMA®

DENTAL SLEEP MEDICINE - APNEA SOLUTIONS

Does snoring keep you awake?

The EMA® (Elastic Mandibular Advancement) oral appliance is a customized removable appliance created for the noninvasive treatment of snoring and obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). The appliance is designed to both advance the mandible and open the bite to allow for less restricted airflow during sleep.

EMA devices help promote a deeper, more restful sleep by preventing snoring and relieving the symptoms of OSA. The EMA does not interfere with breathing through the mouth, even in cases of congested nasal passages. It has many options for advancement with nine strap lengths (13 mm–21 mm) and four different elastic tension options, indicated by color. The shorter the strap, the farther the mandible is advanced. The 36 different straps allow for the most effective repositioning of the jaw with maximum comfort. Due to the varying elastic bands, non-restricted lateral/protrusive movement is possible while wearing the device.

Snoring and Obstructive Sleep Apnea can be treated safely and effectively with the EMA® oral appliance

TAP® 3 TL

TAP® into a quiet night’s sleep...

The TAP® 3 TL is part of the TAP family of appliances for the treatment of snoring and obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). Based on the same principle as cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), the TAP (Thornton Adjustable Positioner) was designed to keep the airway open to allow for air to pass. A constricted or collapsed airway causes snoring and OSA. The TAP device holds the lower jaw in a forward position, maintaining a clear airway to reduce snoring and improve breathing.

Each TAP device consists of an upper and lower tray that fit over the teeth. Fitting more comfortably in the mouth than the original TAP, the TAP 3 TL features smaller hardware that provides more room for the tongue and allows the lips to close. On the TAP 3 TL, a hook mechanism attached to the upper tray fits into a socket attached to the lower tray and positions the lower jaw forward. Three hook sizes offer increased range of adjustment. An adjustment key enables the patient to adjust the protrusion of the lower jaw while wearing the device until a comfortable and effective position is achieved.

  • Dr. Krupp took all 4 of my impacted wisdom teeth out at once - in less than 10 minutes! I ended up just having some swelling and discomfort for a few days afterwards and that was it. His office is clean and his staff is friendly and knowledgeable. It was about as great as a surgical experience can be, definitely recommend.

  • Great OMFS center! Customer service was great. We came for my sons impacted wisdom teeth. We got there early and they accommodated us right away. Dr Krupp is a no fuss no nonsense kind of guy and he was very efficient. We were done in no time. Overall a great experience. My son was well taken cared of post op too. He had medications to help with healing, pain and infection prevention.

  • If you come here it's likely to have unpleasant dental work done. I had to have a tooth extracted after a bad root canal followed by four failed root canal retreatments. Since I had four procedures done within two weeks of having it pulled, I was a mess. They instantly put me at ease by providing a stress ball and playing positive music. I found their bedside manner to be perfect and just what I needed. I will need future work done and this is where I will come.

  • I had the best experience here! Katia and Christina was amazing. Dr Krupp was good aswell. He's a surgeon and they usually aren't too chatty...lol I would recommend this facility to everyone I know. I went in crying like a baby about having my wisdom teeth removed and they made me so comfortable. Very clean practice!

  • I had all 4 wisdom teeth removed after being referred to this place by my dentist. Dr. Krupp was my dentist and was SUPER nice. I was knocked out for the whole thing and had no probs at all. They gave me my prescriptions early so I could get them filled before the procedure and wouldn't have to stop on the way home. the place is really upscale and i would def go back if i had to.
